ITINERARY
Upon arrival into Cusco, you will be met by your guide and scorted for the next hour to the Archeological site of Pisaq. located in the Sacred Valley of the Incas; a vast green valley that sprawls out far below Machu Picchu, the Sacred Valley´s diversity of microclimates made it an important source of food for the Incan Empire and is a place where many continue to live as they have for hundreds of years. Our first stop will be at the Archeological site of Pisaq with their spectacular views of the valley. In this place, the ingenuity of the Inca architects will help us to understand why this civilization reached the level of development and territorial expansion. After some exploring of the site, we set off on a hike down to the famous and picturesque Pisaq town where we end our first day.

Approximate Time Hiking – 03 hours
After Breakfast we transfer by car to Taucca, a town located about 45 minutes from the Sacred Valley. Upon arrival we start the days´ trek making our way upthrough the Pucajasa Mountain Pass 4100 masl, arriving at the town of Puka Llacta mid morning. Here we will stop for a short break to catch our breath before continuing on through the small but Impressive “Leon Punku” Canyon on our way to the archeological complex of Huchuy Qosqo. Also known as little Cusco, these magnificent ruins are thought to have been a royal estate, but to date it is not known with certainty what its actual purpose was. This spectacular location is the perfect place to enjoy our boxed lunch while taking in the amazing views of the valley below. After an hour for lunch and exploration, continue down the mountain, ending up at the “Lamay” area of the Sacred Valley where our private vehicle will be waiting to transfer you to your hotel.
Approximate Time Hiking – 07 hours
After breakfast you will be collected by our driver and transferred to the Incan site of Moray where we explore the unusual circular terraces and surrounding landscape over the next hour. From here you are transferred to the starting point of the hike to Maras. This trek will take you through beautiful farmlands, local villages and weather permitted; you will be able to enjoy views of the spectacular Andes mountain ranges in the distance. Arrival at Maras will be around midday where there is a break for lunch. From here you are transferred to the start of the one hour hike to Salineras de Maras. These Inca salt mines have been in use for centuries and are one of only 4 places in the world where pink salt is extracted. After about 30 minutes we continue our hike to the town of Pichingoto where our driver will be waiting to transfer you back to your hotel. Remainder of the afternoon at leisure
Approximate Time Hiking – 03 hours
You will be collected from your hotel early morning and transferred to Ollantaytambo train station, where you will board the Scenic Glass-Top train to Machu Picchu. This short rail journey is considered one of the most beautiful in the world so have your camera ready. The train will make a stop where you disembark to make your way to the start of this famous trail. Crossing the Vilcanota River you have a chance to explore the Incan site, “Chachabamba” before continuing on the trail to “WiñayWayna” where we enjoy a boxed lunch. At this impressive archaeological site, we have a chance to marvel at the incredible Incan engineering and this stop is a highlight of the trail. On the way to the next stop, “Inti Punku” we have our first views of Machu Picchu. A quick descent along the path brings us to the entrance on this magnificent site. After a panoramic viewing, we head down to Machu Picchu Village – Remainder of the evening at leisure.

After breakfast, we continue our exploration of the wonder of the world, in order to understand the spiritual, astronomical, religious and administrative meaning of Machu Picchu, this Vast Inca dwelling has a unique beauty due to its privileged location.
(Optional) Take a hike to Huayna Picchu or Machu Picchu Mountain to enjoy spectacular views of the surrounding area. The morning is yours to explore these majestic ruins with your guide.
Enjoy lunch at a local restaurant before we say goodbye to this magical ancient city, and make our way to Ollantaytambo by train and then drive back to Cusco.
